𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗺𝘂, 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 10, 2025: Shri Anand Jain, IPS, Additional Director General of Armed Police, Jammu & Kashmir, today presented medals and commendations to the winners of the Inter-Battalion Sports Competition at the Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, Jammu. The ceremony marked the successful culmination of the tournament, celebrating the exceptional performances of athletes from various Armed and IRP units across the Union Territory. 2. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation and showcased exemplary talent, discipline, and teamwork across a wide range of sporting events, including athletics, football, kabaddi, volleyball, basketball, tug-of-war, and other competitions. The event not only highlighted sporting excellence but also underscored the high standards of physical fitness and preparedness maintained by the Jammu & Kashmir Police. 3. Commending the participants for their dedication and sportsmanship, the ADG, Armed Police ,emphasized that physical endurance, mental resilience, and team spirit are vital qualities for police personnel entrusted with maintaining peace, order, and the security of the nation. He also appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for conducting the tournament in a highly professional, disciplined, and well-coordinated manner. 4. The annual competition served as a valuable platform for fostering camaraderie, promoting healthy competition, and enhancing the overall well-being of the force. It also contributed significantly to stress relief, personality development, and team building among personnel. Prominent officers present on the occasion included Shri Vinod Kumar, IPS, DIG IRP Jammu; Shri Sameer Sharma, IPS, DIG AP Jammu; Shri Joginder Singh, SSP Jammu; Commandants of all Jammu-based AP/IR battalions; Shri Rajinder Singh, SSP APCR Jammu; and other officers.

DC Udhampur reviews Action plan for 100 day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan UDHAMPUR, APRIL 10: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today chaired a meeting with officers of the line departments to review the action plan for the 100 day campaign under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Singh and other senior district officers from the concerned departments. Reviewing the preparations of stakeholder departments, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to maintain close coordination for successful implementation of activities during the campaign. “Inter-departmental coordination and effective execution of activities are vital for achieving the objectives,” he noted and added “The awareness activities and programmes planned for the campaign aim at sensitizing the public and reinforcing collective efforts towards building a drug-free society.” Stressing the need for extensive grassroots-level outreach, the DC instructed stakeholder departments to activate field staff to mobilise community participation, which is crucial for eradication of the growing menace. He also stressed on promoting awareness about the government welfare schemes.

On his arrival at District Police Headquarters Udhampur, he was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour and warmly welcomed by senior officers. Soon after, he chaired an introductory meeting at DPL Udhampur to review the law & order and crime scenario of the district. All supervisory officers and SHOs attended the meeting where a brief presentation highlighted key challenges and priorities. District road safety committee meeting held at Udhampur DC calls for strict enforcement of rules, corrective measures UDHAMPUR, APRIL 07: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today chaired a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee to review and strengthen road safety measures across the district. The meeting was attended by the Superintending Engineer, PWD, along with other district officers of the stakeholder departments. A detailed discussion was held on several critical aspects, including removal of dumped material from city areas, effective implementation of Motor Vehicles Act, identification of accident-prone black spots etc. The meeting also deliberated on equipping ambulances with trauma kits, ensuring strict enforcement of traffic rules and taking measures to minimize road accidents. Focus was laid on regular road maintenance, close check on overloading and over-speeding, curbing rash driving and conducting sustained awareness programmes. Other key issues discussed included improving traffic management systems, decongesting busy routes, checking school buses, installing proper signage and carrying out safety audits of all major roads. The DC exhorted all concerned departments to work in close coordination, expedite execution of safety-related works and regularly monitor vulnerable stretches. Emphasis was also laid on organizing road safety awareness programmes in colleges and other educational institutions. The Executive Engineers of PWD and PMGSY were directed to ensure proper maintenance of roads to prevent mishaps. They were further instructed to identify black spots and undertake corrective measures such as installation of signboards, road markings and crash barriers at vulnerable locations.
