DC Udhampur reviews District Environment Plan Stresses strict enforcement of green measures UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 11: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai today chaired a meeting of the District Environmental Plan Committee to review the District Environment Plan and assess the implementation of key environmental initiatives in the district. The DC directed the concerned departments to expedite the finalization of the plan and strictly enforce the ban on polythene. She instructed departments to adhere to SOPs in waste segregation and disposal at designated composting sites. The Municipal Bodies and Rural Development Department were tasked with preventing any accumulation of waste near educational institutions, hospitals, public places and along major roads. The DC laid special emphasis on the scientific disposal of biomedical waste to safeguard public health. To further enhance environmental hygiene, the Municipal Council, Jal Shakti Department and Irrigation & Flood Control Department were directed to launch massive cleanliness drives of nallahs and water channels across both urban and rural areas. She also called for the installation of dustbins at key public locations and stressed the timely implementation of major environmental interventions, including the establishment of effluent treatment plants, solid waste management facilities and plastic waste processing units. The DC urged all departments to work in close coordination to ensure effective execution of the District Environment Plan for a cleaner and healthier Udhampur.

During the follow-up (backward link) investigation, the involvement of two medical shops surfaced. During inspection today, *Life Care Medical Hall, Chenani run by Sudesh Kumar S/O Rattan Lal R/O Sira Morh Latti* and *Mahadev Medical Hall, Chenani run by Pawan Kumar S/O Rattan Lal R/O Sira Morh Latti,* were sealed by the Drug Control Officer Udhampur for violation of the provisions of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, including the illegal sale of Pregabalin capsules to youth of the area. *With this action, the total number of medical shops sealed this year has gone up to 14.* District Police Udhampur has issued a stern warning to all medical establishments to strictly adhere to the regulations concerning the sale of controlled drugs. Strict legal action will be taken against those found violating these norms.

DC visits work sites in Birma, inspects progress on DDC Council building UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 10: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh and Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan, today conducted a site visit to the Birma area to review progress of key development projects. During the inspection, the DC assessed the ongoing construction work of the DDC Council Building and inspected the proposed sites for the construction of the Industrial Training Institute and SPCA. She directed the concerned authorities to finalize the sites for these upcoming projects and expedite the processes. While inspecting the progress of the DDC Council Building, the DC emphasized the importance of timely completion and adherence to quality standards. She instructed the executing agencies to accelerate the pace of work, ensure effective mobilization of resources and complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.

उधमपुर उपायुक्त ने इंटेंसिफाइड पल्स पोलियो ड्राइव की तैयारियों की समीक्षा की उधमपुर, 09 दिसंबर: उपायुक्त उधमपुर सलोनी रॉय ने आज इंटेंसिफाइड पल्स पोलियो इम्यूनाइजेशन कैंपेन 2025 की तैयारियों की समीक्षा हेतु एक बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। बैठक में अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त उधमपुर प्रेम सिंह; पीओ पोषण, सुभाष चंदर; मुख्य चिकित्सा अधिकारी डॉ. अनिल मनहास; आईसीडीएस, शिक्षा विभाग और अन्य संबंधित विभागों के अधिकारी मौजूद थे। उपायुक्त ने बूथ प्रबंधन, टीकाकरण टीमों की तैनाती, ट्रांजिट साइट कवरेज, लॉजिस्टिक्स और कोल्ड चेन व्यवस्थाओं की समीक्षा की। उन्होंने 5 वर्ष से कम आयु के सभी बच्चों का 100% कवरेज सुनिश्चित करने पर जोर दिया ताकि जिला पोलियो मुक्त बना रहे। उन्होंने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिया कि जागरूकता गतिविधियों को विशेष रूप से दूरदराज़ और उच्च जोखिम वाले क्षेत्रों तथा ट्रांजिट पॉइंट्स में और अधिक तीव्र किया जाए। उपायुक्त ने सभी विभागों पर राष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य मिशन की सफलता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए आपसी तालमेल में कार्य करने पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने प्रभावी पर्यवेक्षण के लिए विशेष मॉनिटरिंग टीमें तैनात करने और दैनिक रिपोर्टिंग सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए। सीएमओ ने माइक्रो-प्लान, वैक्सीन स्टॉक की उपलब्धता और फील्ड स्टाफ के प्रशिक्षण की स्थिति के बारे में जानकारी दी। बताया गया कि आईपीपीआई राउंड के दौरान प्रत्येक पात्र बच्चे को कवर करने के लिए डोर-टू-डोर टीमें, फिक्स्ड बूथ और मोबाइल यूनिट स्थापित की जाएंगी। उन्होंने कहा, “जिले के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में कुल 535 टीकाकरण बूथ स्थापित किए जाएंगे ताकि 0-5 वर्ष आयु के 86,192 बच्चों को टीकाकरण किया जा सके। इसके अलावा 13 ट्रांजिट कैंप, 04 मोबाइल टीमें, 110 पर्यवेक्षक तथा 05 जिला मॉनिटर्स इस ड्राइव की निगरानी के लिए तैनात किए जाएंगे।”

During questioning and frisking, the individual was identified as Rashid Latief S/O Abdul Latief R/O Gandoh, Doda. On his checking, 8.51 grams of heroin was found from his possession. In this regard, FIR No. 208/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation is underway.

लगभग 1850 बजे नियमित गश्त के दौरान, रौन डोमैल चौक के पास, उधमपुर पुलिस ने बट्टल बलियां की ओर से आ रहे दो संदिग्ध व्यक्तियों को रोका। पुलिस को देखकर दोनों वापस भागने का प्रयास करने लगे, लेकिन उन्हें तुरंत पकड़ लिया गया। उनकी पहचान इरफान और वसीम के रूप में हुई, जो जखानी के निवासी हैं। तलाशी लेने पर उनके कब्जे से 5.45 ग्राम और 5.54 ग्राम हेरोइन जैसी मादक पदार्थ बरामद हुई। इस संबंध में थाना उधमपुर में एनडीपीएस एक्ट की धारा 8/21/22 के तहत एफआईआर संख्या 143/2026 दर्ज की गई है।

DC Udhampur reviews Action plan for 100 day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan UDHAMPUR, APRIL 10: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today chaired a meeting with officers of the line departments to review the action plan for the 100 day campaign under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Prem Singh and other senior district officers from the concerned departments. Reviewing the preparations of stakeholder departments, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to maintain close coordination for successful implementation of activities during the campaign. “Inter-departmental coordination and effective execution of activities are vital for achieving the objectives,” he noted and added “The awareness activities and programmes planned for the campaign aim at sensitizing the public and reinforcing collective efforts towards building a drug-free society.” Stressing the need for extensive grassroots-level outreach, the DC instructed stakeholder departments to activate field staff to mobilise community participation, which is crucial for eradication of the growing menace. He also stressed on promoting awareness about the government welfare schemes.

District road safety committee meeting held at Udhampur DC calls for strict enforcement of rules, corrective measures UDHAMPUR, APRIL 07: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa today chaired a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee to review and strengthen road safety measures across the district. The meeting was attended by the Superintending Engineer, PWD, along with other district officers of the stakeholder departments. A detailed discussion was held on several critical aspects, including removal of dumped material from city areas, effective implementation of Motor Vehicles Act, identification of accident-prone black spots etc. The meeting also deliberated on equipping ambulances with trauma kits, ensuring strict enforcement of traffic rules and taking measures to minimize road accidents. Focus was laid on regular road maintenance, close check on overloading and over-speeding, curbing rash driving and conducting sustained awareness programmes. Other key issues discussed included improving traffic management systems, decongesting busy routes, checking school buses, installing proper signage and carrying out safety audits of all major roads. The DC exhorted all concerned departments to work in close coordination, expedite execution of safety-related works and regularly monitor vulnerable stretches. Emphasis was also laid on organizing road safety awareness programmes in colleges and other educational institutions. The Executive Engineers of PWD and PMGSY were directed to ensure proper maintenance of roads to prevent mishaps. They were further instructed to identify black spots and undertake corrective measures such as installation of signboards, road markings and crash barriers at vulnerable locations.
